Known issues in the beta
What Blizzard says is wrong in the Forever beta, in the order it posted it, and what it says about each fix. We only repeat Blizzard's own list.

Blizzard keeps one thread for the beta’s known issues, written by a Blizzard employee and updated with each batch. The page below follows that thread, newest post first, in our words. A line says “Fix planned” when Blizzard said a fix would come in a build; it is not marked resolved here until Blizzard lists it under resolved issues. Last checked 7 October 2026; the thread’s latest post is from 1 October 2026. Read the thread on Blizzard’s forum (opens in a new tab)

Blizzard’s post (opens in a new tab)Chaining spells: the casting effects and sound of the next spell wait until the first one finishes (a second Fireball does not start glowing until the first has been cast).
Enemies can parry and block attacks from behind when the player stands close to them. Staying away from the target avoids it.
The whole installation is larger than intended. Blizzard is working on shrinking it in a later beta update.
Switching to or from the gamepad interface resets the active Edit Mode layout to the default one.
The Scroll of Liminal Passage does not work correctly.
Dwarf player characters do not have the new splash sounds in water.
Eureka does not affect every damaging or healing spell for some classes.
Several debuffs, such as Faerie Fire and Demoralizing Shout, do not cause threat.
Mages who learn Research can be prevented from opening it.
Warrior Dual Wield Specialization gives the hit chance (2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 percent) to both hands, but it should go only to the off-hand.
Retribution Aura uses the target's spell power instead of the Paladin's.
The Taillasher Eggs of the quest "Break A Few Eggs" respawn more slowly than intended.
Anduin Wrynn and many other children unintentionally wear hats. Blizzard is removing them, and says it will take a while.

Blizzard’s post (opens in a new tab)Banes and Curses are not tracked correctly if you drop your target and later pick a target that already has one.
The Healthstone cooldown cannot be tracked.
Priests track every spell by default.
Arcane Blast cannot be tracked.
A Mana Gem needs the mage to cast one more spell before its cooldown starts to be tracked.
Creating or changing a party may move players to a different world instance. Blizzard says it is working on improvements and will update.
Pet cooldowns cannot be tracked.
Item enhancements such as Windfury or rogue poisons cannot be tracked.
The Stormwind minimap has display problems.
The Personal Resource Display does not show combo points.
Teldrassil, quest "Escaping Ban'ethil": Sentinel Lynessa Duskblossom ran too fast and used Strike over and over.

Blizzard’s post (opens in a new tab)The Cooldown Manager is unfinished: how complete it is varies from class to class.
Armor bonuses from consumables and buffs are multiplied by the armor bonus of Bear Form.
Queueing an on-next-attack ability (Heroic Strike, Cleave, Raptor Strike) turns off the spell queue window.
Taking damage while channeling Arcane Missiles fires a bolt with full damage instead of a shortened one.
The duration of resurrection sickness is wrong at lower levels.

Blizzard’s post (opens in a new tab)Barber chairs cause a Lua error.
Character friends are disabled in the beta.
The minimap may sit partly off the screen.
Waylaid Crates do not work on items whose largest stack is smaller than the quantity the crate asks for.
The Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Curiosities does not accept Greater Magic Essence and wrongly lets you target Lesser Magic Essence.
Starshards, the Night Elf Priest racial, does not benefit from the Twilight Focus talent.
Vengeance, the Retribution Paladin talent, can trigger from periodic critical strikes.
Raising the rank of Holy Strike does not feel good with each rank.
The character pane does not show level, class or titles.
Create Firestone ranks 3 and 4 do not show the part of their tooltip about the conjured item.
Warlock pets do not show Mana as a resource on the character sheet, nor the scaling from their master.
Warlock pets show the wrong Health scaling from Stamina on the character sheet.
The pet hit chance of Hunters and Warlocks does not show the master's scaling coefficient.
Pet Expertise is not shown for Hunters or Warlocks.
Pet movement speed on the character sheet does not show the correct base values in yards per second.
The glancing blow chance for casters is wrong at every level, and so is the damage it removes.
For melee, the damage lost to a glancing blow is wrong against targets of a higher level. The chance is right at every level and the loss is right against equal-level targets.
Because of the glancing blow problems, the glancing blow chances on the character sheet are not accurate.
Opening the Legacy System with the Y key before level 25 causes Lua errors on its first and third tabs.
Some players cannot sign guild charters. As a workaround, a charter can be handed in with no signatures for now.
Coldridge Valley does not reveal on the map when it is explored.
